Soil health drives yields, which has seen Safi Organics Limited create an organic and carbon negative fertiliser from coffee and rice husks that reduces soil acidity and lifts yields by up to 30 per cent - resulting in increased incomes by as much as 50 per cent. A 50 kg bag costs Sh1500, which is 40 per cent cheaper than mainstream fertilisers.
